There seems to be no end to the war of words between Vadivelu and Singamuthu, even after the elections are over. The one-time colleagues and close friends, who parted ways after a property dispute, are now divided by politics too.

“Vadivelu was the one who hailed Jayalalithaa a lot during her rule. Likewise, he would again come to Amma once she becomes the Chief Minister after May 13,” Singamuthu was quoted as saying by a Tamil weekly.

The comedian added: “Vadivelu’s support and campaign to the DMK was not because he was inspired by the party’s principles or policies. But only to sling mud against DMDK president Vijayakanth.”

Meanwhile, Vadivelu, who cast his vote at a booth in Saligramam on Wednesday, expressed hope that the DMK would retain power. He also called on Chief Minister M Karunanidhi later in the day.
